Today Morning I was hopping channel to channel in hopes of finding something worthwhile to watch when I saw Jaya TV running a morning breakfast show called Kaalai Malar. They were running a segment on Fitness and Health. A section in the show was website review in which they were busy reviewing a fitness site which supposedly contained all the fitness deals, fitness tips and more about cosmetics. The site reviewed?

The reviewer was busy telling us the reader about how useful this site really is as it contained links to many special “deals” and information online. He was explaining each link and category in depth. If you have not spotted the goofup already, you are not a webmaster. :)

Open Social, the Facebook killer by Google is fast approaching launch I guess. Its possibly only hours before everyone announces the launch of the much awaited Orkut Killer Apps! Orkut Killer? Yea, just the sort of thing that will kill Orkut. The new favorite pastime of millions of teenagers in India/Brazil.

Since the past week, pagination errors have been too much and other minor bugs evident on the system. I should have guessed something was coming up. Logging into my account today I noticed this:

pencilThe other day I was pondering with the pencil in my hand. What can we bloggers learn from a pencil? Here are a few things we can learn from the humble pencil.

1. The lead inside matters more than the wood outside.

You might have the best of designs on your blog, but if you have crappy content rehashed from elsewhere, or post infrequently and post without a purpose or a meaning. Visitors can start with a “Awww…” with your terrific blog design and end it with a “….Sheit!!!” seeing your content. :)

2. Pencil can leave a mark.

The title should not really be what blogging bought me, its more like what my online activity bought me. :) But then, blogging got me introduced to making money online, then to macro sites, niche sites and all that. I never really invested anything I made online back into the business expect for buying new domains and starting over with some other niche site. Thank you blogging and my readers who indirectly helped me buy it.

Happened last weekend and I absolutely have no idea why it happened. I added my site to the webmaster central and within a week my PageRank is like poof! Gone! It does not really mean much to me on this site since I do not sell pagerank here, so advertisements are not a reason.

Alexa ranks hates this blog since every other week its only going downwards, so does PR now. Technorati refuses to index my new links and hence a stagnant ranking there. All this makes my blog pretty much useless to potential advertisers. The traffic to the blog has only been growing all these days and I end up being bitch slapped?

BlogCamps are fun! Not that I have been to any. Judging from how the recent barcamp went, it seems that BlogCamp will be hell lot of fun!

The concept of barcamps, meetups and unconferences are slowly catching pace in Kerala judging the crowd at the past 3 barcamps and junior barcamps. Funnily enough, my spell checker says barcamps, meetups and unconferences are not dictionary words. Heck, even blog is not a word in my spell checker!

I was wondering how to reach all the bloggers and to inform them about the event. One list acclaimed by many is the Kerala Blog Roll. Anyone knows any other directories where bloggers can be reached?

I am trying to redesign my homepage at the moment and in the process applying my new found skills with PHP. :) One thing I put in on all the versions of my homepage is a online status indicator with Yahoo! so that people can contact me directly and have their bricks on my face. Usually I go with the normal script code Yahoo! with their default images for online and offline statuses. But this time, I wanted to display custom images for my online and offline status indicators.

Though it seems like yesterday, its been about a year now since I left Airtel to concentrate on my studies and the Internet. I always loved working there and had great confidence and pride that we were the best in the market. :) No offense to Tata, VSNL and BSNL/Asianet (that is, if they can be called competition ;) ), but Airtel has simply time and again proved their best with great products and customer service.

This time, they came out with a Rs. 750/- broadband unlimited(256kbps) with 50 local call pulses! I was using the unlimited 64kbps plan with about Rs. 399 month and changed it to the new plan. I did search unsuccessfully if anyone else has a comparable offer to this. :) Yay Airtel!

OWN UP! WHO DID THIS?

Besides other things, suicide is illegal but once the crime is committed, the “criminal” cannot be punished! But no, I am not planning a suicide. Whoever searching for that bit of information will have to be disappointed for the moment. :D Seriously, who is it anyways? Own up now. You get 1000 brownie points and a embarrassing link back from my blog. ;)

Anand is going to suicide?

RadioEZ, Free online radioI always wanted to move out of WordPress content related sites to something more fun and interesting to work on. RADIOez is the site that started off as a personal venture on my localhost containing all the stations I listen to on the internet. Then the idea bulb struck and I finally got the site completely up and running in the past week. :) RADIOez is my latest adventure into the world of online music stations. Its a aggregations of the various music stations on the Internet with stations arranged according to genres.
