@bobit, I never put all eggs on one basket…its been adsense, affliates and ppc all the way…but sometimes one stream gets too hot and you concentrate more on it Lesson learnt!

If I were you, I would not think on that lines. I would concentrate on what I know best.

I agree that a business model solely based on revenue from ads in not viable for most of us. It is better to try some other forms of monetization strategies.

I would say start selling your SEO, WordPress skills, and let the ad revenue be a secondary stream of revenue.

Thanks, thats an encouragement! But I was thinking more on the lines of a backup in a non-web related field, like management or something else totally offline for a backup for the worst case to support my online ventures

Its not a good idea to have just one source of income.

Also ‘I am a college dropout which basically ruins my chances of getting a job offline’ – its wrong.

I am a collage dropout – I got a job(offline job – at a web dev company) easily. After that I quit – to become a freelancer.

Its not what you where taught – its what you know that is important.
