Nirmal, Most web masters do not have one thing called time! They usually outsource all the content and stuff to outside and only take care of link building (again outsourcing stuff like directory submission and stuff) and managing the sites and checking their earnings

Navjot, I have been using it for sometime now, hence the knowledge. I think learning by yourself is the best way. Just fool around the PS interface and you will learn it. Else, just think of a effect you want to create like fire, steel or ripples, then google for tutorials on it. I am yet to see a complete guide to PS.

How did you learn designing? I know how to convert templates to wordpress. I have made 6 themes out of html templates. But I want to make standalone themes as well. How to learn designing and photoshop? There are lot of haphazardly organised tutorials on net. Any good source? BTW From where you learned?

I didnt do anything you mentioned for backlinks, just write some useful posts, you automatically gets linked.

Sponsoring themes is a bad idea since themes.wordpress.net and weblogtoolscollection.com have banned sponsored themes.

Yeah making themes is a very good idea. As of my example, my directory has several free themes which made my alexa rank jump up by 200K places!!

And a problem with your theme page – where is the comment form on your free themes page? You say leave your comments and feedback there, but there is no comment form to do so.

Check out the one from Small potato(google it – he’s high on SERPS)- it’s one aimed at complete n00bs at creating WP themes.
