Believe it or not, I never relied extensively on my browsers’ dictionary to spell the word – entrepreneurship until recently when I started to fill up my profiles on the web. As with everyone, with frequent usage I learnt the word without having to wait for the wavy red underline.
Someday is not a day of the week.
I have been meaning to update this blog “someday soon”. “Procrastination” is the word I learnt. It was true. “Someday” never came over the past few months and this blog sat around ignored by its own author. While there are stats about how many blogs are started every hour, there has to be a similarly surprising numbers of blogs which just hang around stagnant.

I have been a lazy blogger for most part of this year for some reason. While initially it was due to work and getting the basics up at ayruz, these days its more like a loss of purpose in blogging life. The traffic to this blog has been fairly stable at 40,000 pageviews a month and revenue from adsense being a little over 5$ a day making it the dream no-maintenance blog in my network.
But at TheAnand, I do want to blog! Just that I am lost at about what to blog. As the traffic is stable, I cannot guess which type of posts interest you the regular readers of this blog.

Sorry to dissapoint, but I am not dead!
Initially it was all the work that kept me busy, then I got angry, sad, frustrated and everything else. Guess all the feelings I have been supressing for sometime now just had to surface. So, I spent the last month or so looking for answers, finding out where I am headed to down the line.
The problem is simple. Internet money, as glamorous as it may seem has terrible headaches associated. I have been online for almost more than half my life and am seriously thinking of taking Internet as my career.

My personal life has always been outside this blog since I started this blog. I wanted this blog to be one good read than to be adding to the noise on the blogosphere. These days I am battling the demons within with a whole lot of drama all over making me miss all my deadlines and limits. As I prepare to slay the demons, here are some posts you might have missed on TheAnand

I am trying to redesign my homepage at the moment and in the process applying my new found skills with PHP.
One thing I put in on all the versions of my homepage is a online status indicator with Yahoo! so that people can contact me directly and have their bricks on my face. Usually I go with the normal script code Yahoo! with their default images for online and offline statuses. But this time, I wanted to display custom images for my online and offline status indicators.

OWN UP! WHO DID THIS?
Besides other things, suicide is illegal but once the crime is committed, the “criminal” cannot be punished! But no, I am not planning a suicide. Whoever searching for that bit of information will have to be disappointed for the moment.
Seriously, who is it anyways? Own up now. You get 1000 brownie points and a embarrassing link back from my blog.

Each time I decide I should be posting more frequently on this blog, something or the other keeps coming up. Yea, Fricking excuses. I know.
February was a great month of sorts with the first weekend spent at the Barcamp. It was a great event with great participation and even greater people. I have to say, that spending time with those thinking like you, greatly changes the way you look at things.

Yesterday night at about approx 2100 hrs IST I realized why Eve tasted the forbidden Apple after all! Why? How? What and all those answers coming right up! I reached back in Cochin yesterday night after visiting my School – Rani Public School in Vadakara, Calicut. I finally had to chance to collect some important documents after 3 years of passing out.

So, whats this got to do with Eve and the forbidden Apple? Cochin to Vadakara is about 250 Kms or 155 miles. I was told that the riding my bike all the way totally stupid according to most of my friends considering the state of roads in Kerala. Here is what I travelled the distance in:

Title says it why I have not been blogging, not chatting with you people on Yahoo, MSN and even Orkut for that matter. I have been am really busy trying to figure out the various protocols like TCP/IP, figuring out who a System Analyst is and learning about binary trees (nope, not those normal green trees
).
As a result, all my blogging activities have been stalled till the end of this month. While all other bloggers who go on a break have photos to show you, I can only show you pics of my IGNOU’s BCA (Bachelors in Computer Application)textbooks

I wanted to do this for a long time now, but had decided to do it only after my blog has some decent statistics worth bragging talking about. I always think linking out to others is a great way to grab their attention.Vandelay Website Design blog is one such blog who has used post level link exchanges to get some great linkbacks from the blogosphere.
Here is what I propose to do:

Since the facelift, Google’s Orkut has been silently adding new features to the Indian/ Brazillian MySpace (is calling them that justified?). Along with better spam management in communities, choosing what you want to show to the world and other numerous features tell us that Google is dead serious about making it big in the US market.
Today I was browsing Orkut and came accross a profile that had a lock on its album. It was only then I noticed that now Orkut has a option to show certain parts of your profile only to friends, like the album, testimonials. This will stop prying eyes on those privacy concerned girls out there.

Today I, The Anand turned twenty after, well 20 years of my birth
I usually don’t really celebrate my birthdays cuz its been that way for as long as I can remember. So no birthday cake cutting pictures or party pictures today.
I was also happy to discover that I share my birthday with Micheal Kwan, the freelance writer who is rumored to be JohnChows’ accomplice in the laters panda slaying ventures. Happy Birthday Kwan!

My Alexa rankings were dropping like anything for the last few weeks without any kind of explanations or reasons. In a bid to increase my rankings, I decided to try the recently released Alexa Plugin for firefox. I was using the Search Status plugin earlier which was pretty nifty giving me a lot of informations about the sites I visit like WhoIs and other site details.
When I read the Privacy Policy of the Alexa Sparky plugin, here is what I found:
