This post is a response to this post I came across the other day tonight on Twitter about the Google Caffeine Search Engine Ranking factors which claimed to put tips to optimize your website to the new version of Google Search which is reportedly live on some datacenters. I question the source of that article and how the author came to those points.
1. Loading time of your website/blog – This a fairly recent rumour if you ask me. Most webmasters work really hard on reducing load times on their websites. While it is NOT a SEO advantage to do so, it is a BIG user experience factor which is not only appreciated by Google, but by normal users like you and me also.

I recently put out a tweet about how your blog is in the right track if you get more spammy comments. From what I see, you are seen by the bots, which means search engines and other kinds of bots should see you too. Its a good thing though not many followers agreed with me! What do you say?!
BUT, This post is not about spamming! This is about learning from a annoying marketing technique which has been existent since email came along. Spam emails! Everyone hates those nigerian bankers who want your help or those claiming to make your body organs bigger and even those promising you replicas of popular watch brands.

A New age proverb says an image is probably worth a 1000 hits on Image search engines if you optimize it right. If you run a celebrity wallpaper like me, you should probably know that the majority of people looking for good wallpapers and shots of half naked celebs come from Google Image Search. There are not many ways to SEO images for search positions, this article tries to cover a few of the common methods.

A question posed to me by one of my chat mates. To answer that question, you need to know the chat we had before the question.
He: Hi Anand
Me: Hi
He: So, what do you do?
Me: I am into Internet Marketing
He: So, you are a liar?
Reminded me of the popular book by Seth Godin and a similarly popular proverb in my home state. In this age where the people have been empowered with search engines, decision engines and more engines than I can think of, do marketers and salesmen have any role to play?

Pre P.S: I sincerely hope dad does not read the second paragraph!
Does Anonymous You Online sound like an oxymoron??!? Well, its a rule that anyone getting online is not anonymous. For example a search for me renders around 9000 results online. That’s quite a lot about me online for everyone to see and read about and know me better worse. I am sure reverse engineering me can let someone know more about me than I do! This is something very related to the concept of “Reputation Management“.

Guess what I found when I searched for myself on Google?
Looks like Orkut is being integrated into google search results now. That is good news! Suppose I want to find any other blogger or a friend, I only need to do a google search with his name. Neat, but it seems that the results are personalized to the person signed in. Which means you will probably not see it when you do the same search unless I am in your friends list at orkut.

I had recently posted my thoughts on content duplication and it was pretty much criticized over by friends due to a lot of reasons. I started off making money online rewriting content on digitalpoint and other forums and I still suggest that to beginners who want to start off making money online.
Initially it felt really bad it was work sans creativity and felt like my work at the call center before that, but then as I did it in the digital point forums, I learnt a lot of things looking just watching the forum spy. Content rewriting has been there in the traditional media as long as anyone can remember. What do you see on Sundays where you have supplements on youth, recipes, interview tips and more. They are rehashed content from the internet, from other books and journals.

This is it. I had tried so hard to ignore this newly propogated idea on the internet that suddenly “content is not king”. But being the kind of guy who reads about 100 blogs a day, its so hard. Till the recent times, as recent as 3 weeks back, it was said that content is king and suddenly everyone wants to turn the plate?
I have been hearing about this since the day I got online and from the day I started blogging. But suddenly the content king is being de-throned by marketing and linkbuilding and even social media? I beg to differ and stick to the old age saying which was phrased by God-Knows-Who.

SEO is something really simple and it amuses me that corporates are willing to shell out loads of greens on maintaining their top positions on SERPS. But then, though we all know how to change a bulb, we still pay an electrician to do it.
Speciality is money in itself.
Here are a few excerpts from my mindmap on SEO that I am currently working on.

My personal life has always been outside this blog since I started this blog. I wanted this blog to be one good read than to be adding to the noise on the blogosphere. These days I am battling the demons within with a whole lot of drama all over making me miss all my deadlines and limits. As I prepare to slay the demons, here are some posts you might have missed on TheAnand
