The start of this month was not on a very good note financially. My Paypal account got limited access-fied and I have been trying to get it fixed for more than a week now. Forums and blogs suggested that limited access is something which is difficult to resolve and its best to forget about the paypal account after it has been limited.
But I was bent on getting this resolved as it was no fault of mine and they had even charge-backed my recent transaction to renew my hosting. After numerours phone calls to USA in the middle of the night and talking to people who do not even understand each others accent, I was able to get the thing resolved and limited access was lifted!

I got back from my vacation. But I am in a strange problem. My site is having a problem with www. and without www which is showing different versions on this site. I have no idea which server I am posting this on.
If I visit theanand.com/blog without the www., it shows a post dated 5th Aug. And then when I go to www.theanand.com/blog it shows a post dated 8th Aug as the latest post. Also some comments go missing. Has anyone else experienced this somehow? What am I to do other than mail my host and wait? All my SEO efforts will go down the drain if it stays much longer on the one without the www. since it is redirecting to the URL without www.

If you have been reading my blog for over a month now, you might remember how my computer ran into trouble in April, erasing all the files in my PC and then I had to start everything afresh right from the scratch. Was I frustrated? Yes, and yes a million times! Everyone hates having their PC run into problems and having all their data erased.

Since my computer was into a lot of trouble last month, I had decided to move all my data online, the first thing I tried was to use the vacant and plenty of space available on Gmail. But the programs for that dint seem to work out for me. I needed some space for storing my essential web development data and other files. I managed to get my bookmarks and other stuff online using Netvibes. But data was still a problem.

Looks like April is not the best of time for me.
First was my web server mess up and now its my hard disk crash! It shows how a drop of carelessness and erase your very own virtual existence. I had two hard disks in my previous syste, with one running linux and the other with windows XP, my daddy dearest wanted to borrow one of them for his office pc. I told him to take the disk with Linux…Well, you know what happened, he took the wrong hard disk and everything I ever did for the last two years is gone, gone just like that. The worst part is I don’t have a backup of a single file in my system.

TheAnand.com is up after almost 72 agonising hours of downtime. I am really sorry about this, my host was trying to migrate this blog to another server which obviously failed. Now I am back to the old server. Things seem to be working now, do tell me if you find anything amiss or broken. The bad part is that all this happened at a time when I am trying to promote my blog, wonder how many visitors I lost.
Will they give me a second chance?
