Looking past 2008

2008 was very eventful both in terms of personal life and in professional life. 12 months of rocking events which not only included memorable and historical events like organizing one of India’s biggest BlogCamp in Kerala and getting to meetup with some of the best personalities online and to more sobre ones like getting dumped, dropping out of college and other crap.

I was able to get back to my previous best of 2007 earnings and break all previous earnings after a slump in first few months of 2008. Proving my theory that living from internet income is a possibility and anyone can do it. (Though everyone won’t). And the best part was, I was able to move from a “work and earn” to a “setup and earn” passive mode of online money.

Plans for 2009

  • Keep getting closer to the Mercedes (just a little more than 7 years left).
  • Network with more like minds and possibly setup more joint ventures and see the sun at least once a day (as opposed to twice a week schedule currently)
  • Go back to college in a different line of career.
  • Stick to the plan of 4 niche sites a month.
  • Bring down the number of hours spent online from 14-16 to more resonable and un-geek numbers πŸ™‚
  • Help 5 people reach at least the level of income I enjoy and groom them up. Karma!
  • Take more risks with my business and stop thinking “what if…” πŸ™‚

Hope you guys have a rocking new year and hope all your dreams, aspirations and everything else comes true. Trust me, if you think, dream and aspire for something, it will be all yours. So, if you keep thinking you are good for nothing, you know what you are going to become!!!Β  GOOD LUCK Folks

  1. ” Help 5 people reach at least the level of income I enjoy and groom them up. ”

Can I be one of that..?
    Or am I already one..?

BTW, When you said BUcz, BEnz and BAbez, I never thought they were the real goals,

So that Benz is a real goal, who is the target BABE..?

    Happy New Year

    1. I should actually be making that rajni dialogue now…but guess I will take a pass and btw, it says Babes….in plural form! πŸ˜›

  2. Well Anand , what you mean by “work and earn” to a β€œsetup and earn” passive mode of online money. Btw, point 6 is very interesting πŸ™‚

All the best for the New Year ,
    Smartin

    1. hey smartin,

setup and earn is a passive mode of income where your work is not really there all the time except for the initial stages. After sometime the site grows by itself.

  3. Well ur plans is really nice … i liked allmost all the points … keep going ahead

  4. @ Vikram, Thanks mate!

  5. Wish the all the very best !!!!!

  6. Been falling your blog for a long time and it’s great to see that you’re succeeding!

4 niche sites a month is a good number. Before I tried to do 30 but it really didn’t work. The sites weren’t very good in the end and the domains just ended up expiring.

Ah well you live and learn!

  7. @ Asif, thanks!

@ Matt, yes, I had tried 10 a month earlier and ended up with low grade sites that wont even sell on DP πŸ™‚

One week a site is a good number, content, linkbuilding and marketing can be all done on a satisfactorily.

  8. The goals 5 and 6 sounds interesting… #5 applies to me too and #6 fails me to resist asking will I be one of them? πŸ˜›

ah.. seems arun beat me to it! hmph!

  9. @Archana,

Hey, I booked that seat already, sorry you are late.. LOL πŸ˜›
