This is my post about Kontera In-text Advertisers with whom I have signed up as a publisher since 05th Apr 2007. The stats so far are not very commendable for me as a money making blogger. Here they are:
Thats around $0.02 a click! 🙁 Adsense gives me better averages than this! But I have decided to let them run for sometime more, since they have requested for about 14 days for their ads to get optimized and running for maximum revenue. But being the impatient about money, I decided to send them a mail about this and see what happens. Their service is commendable though, they replied in 24 hrs and here is what they had to say:
Thanks for writing in. The reason your cpcs are low is due to the fact that approximately 80% of your traffic is coming from India, and while we support every country on the globe our advertisers pay certain amounts depending on the location. The highest payouts are of course when a visitor is from North America and Western Europe, while India and in a bigger part South East Asia generally have lower cpcs. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

I am a publisher with kontera, but I am experiencing really low revenue per click….am I doing something wrong?
Please suggest ways to increace my revenue…
Thanks & Regards,
Which means I have to write content for those in the North America and West Europe? 🙂 Funny! My built-in domain stats say that there are a huge share of page views from North America. But then, these traffic tools are pretty unreliable. Alexa says that my 80% traffic is from India, I have a local ranking of about 5600+ too!
There you have it, as per the mail, get more visitors from the North of America and the West of Europe and forget the South of Asia. But nothing about the East though, so maybe you should ban them 🙂 My hopes of continuing in Kontera ads are pretty dim.
